Curriculum Model

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Nursery: Age 3, 4 and 5

The EYFS British curriculum seeks to provide:

• quality and consistency in all early years settings, so that every child makes good progress and no child gets left behind.

• a secure foundation through planning for the learning and development of each individual child, and assessing and reviewing what they have learned regularly.

• partnership working between practitioners and with parents and/or guardians

• equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.

Key Stage 1 and 2 (age 6 to 11)

Year 1 to Year 6      >     Primary

The Key Stage 1 & 2 British curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens and helps create an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.

The curriculum provides an outline of core knowledge around which teachers can develop exciting and stimulating lessons to promote the development of pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills as part of the wider school curriculum.
