Curriculum
EYFS
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is split into seven areas of learning. Three of these are known as the ‘Prime Areas’ and the other four areas are the ‘Specific’ Areas.
The Prime areas
Communication and Language Development
Children’s back-and-forth interactions from an early age form the foundations for language and cognitive development. Communication and Language Development includes listening, attention and understanding, and speaking. This also sets the foundations for literacy and is crucial for progress in literacy skills.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Children’s personal, social and emotional development is crucial for healthy and happy lives and fundamental to their cognitive development. This is where we teach and foster early-age social skills while raising awareness of personal feelings.
